Guides/Group chat

WhatsApp is fine. It just can't run the night.

Keep the group chat. Really. That's where the banter is, and I'm not trying to replace it.

WhatsApp is a stream. A club needs a record. Those are different jobs, and one app pretending to do both is why the same questions come back every Tuesday.

What WhatsApp is good at

  • Telling people the session was a laugh
  • The photo someone took on court 2
  • "Anyone want a hit on Thursday?"

What it keeps failing at

  • Who has a spot right now
  • Who has paid
  • What changed when you moved the start time
  • Where last month's photo went
  • A waitlist that isn't you remembering who asked first

You can run a club in a group chat. You just end up as the person who is the database.

Split the jobs

Leave WhatsApp for the chat. Put bookings, payments and the night itself in one place that doesn't scroll away. ClubPad is that place: sessions and waitlists, Revolut and cash with a reference, announcements, member roles, the Live Mixer, Club Hub and a History tab for every recorded night. Your group doesn't shut down. It just stops being the booking sheet.

If you're already in a chat that's doing all of this, the moving guide is the practical version of tonight.

The short version
  • WhatsApp is for the chat. Keep it.
  • Bookings, payments and the night go somewhere that doesn't scroll.
  • The group stops being the booking sheet, and you stop being the database.

Keep the chat. Lose the admin.

Create your club free, send one link to the group, and the booking sheet stops being a scroll.
