ClubPad runs the session itself
Spond takes replies and can take payments. ClubPad does both, then runs the session: it builds the courts, can run a round timer if you want one, and records who won. Spond is built for every sport, and it has no mixer for running the games.

When Spond is the better choice
Stay with Spond if you coordinate volunteers and rotas across several teams and age groups, or your club plays more than one sport. That is the job it was built for. ClubPad only does pickleball.
